Events
Elizabeth loves to connect our neighbors through fun events, some of which raise much needed funds for trees, holiday parties and more. The event dates fluctuate from year to year and will be posted here when they are announced but events usually happen during the same seasons each year, as noted below.
Elizabeth 8K Road Race
The annual Elizabeth 8K returns to the neighborhood for its 40th Ruby Anniversary. This is a family-friendly event with a competitive edge, and includes a 1.5M untimed fun run/walk as well as the Liz Kids’ Fun Run for the little ones.
Starting and finishing just off Elizabeth Avenue, the course winds through the historic, tree-lined streets that make this event a Charlotte favorite.
Be sure to follow Elizabeth8K on Instagram and/or Facebook. Registration is OPEN.
Elizabeth Egg Hunt
Elizabeth welcomes the return of spring with the family friendly Elizabeth Egg Hunt on March 28, 2026 at 9am. Kids of all ages are invited to bring baskets and hunt for stuffed eggs and meet the Easter bunny at this annual gathering located at The Rose Garden in Independence Park.
Progressive Dinner
After nearly a decade break, the Progressive Dinner is back by popular demand through the hard work of volunteers.
What’s the Progressive Dinner? Well, its a dinner where we…. progress from one place to the next 🙂 First we gather as a community at a designated Appetizer House. From there, we’ll move to an array of designated Host Houses to eat dinner in a small group setting. After dinner, we will reconvene at The Wine Vault for dessert.
Who Can Attend? This is an ECA member-only event. To confirm you are a member, email Emily Halloran, ECA Membership Chair. Never been a member? Join on our website! Its easy!
The Annual Meeting
On September 16th at 6:30 we gathered as a community to vote on new board members, review the past year, and reconnect with friends and neighbors.
Don’t forget to renew your membership each year to be eligible to vote at the annual meeting. You can even subscribe and avoid the hassle of renewing each year.
The Great Elizabeth Pumpkin Wall
A beloved Elizabeth tradition, the Great Elizabeth Pumpkin Wall returned for its 21st year on October 26th. Mother Nature knocked the wall down but the Elizabeth neighborhood rallied and rebuilt it, better than before. The tradition will continue …
The Merry Meander
Born out of the Covid pandemic, the Merry Meander is a joyful holiday walk through Elizabeth. This year’s celebration was on December 21st and featured artists, food and fun across the neighborhood. The Merry Meander is organized for neighborhood residents and is not a public event.
